Dissolved Air Floatation of wastewater

Dissolved air floatation as a clarification process in water treatment has been used in Europe for over 20 years. In North America, dissolved air floatation is an emerging technology as an alternative to sedimentation. For many sources, it may be a more efficient and more economical method than sedimentation for particulate removal. DAF produces a sludge with higher solids contents, which can reduce operation and maintenance costs of sludge treatment and disposal. Reduces solids loading in filters allowing longer filter run times between backwashes.
