Sajo’s newly developed Ink Can Dispenser allows printers to pump UV or conventional ink from their existing 5.0 kg. plastic or metal ink cans or the larger format 2.5 - 5.0 gallon pails directly into the ink fountain. With the use of a stainless steel bar over the fountain and an ultrasonic sensor, the ink is distributed evenly across the ink fountain while the sensor maintains the ink level to within ± .175”. A follower plate complete with EPDM seal, wipes the can clean as it lowers and a low level alarm light mounted to the top of the unit indicates that the can is empty.
The Ink Can Dispenser mounts directly to the press frame, sitting on top of the unit or attached to the side and can easily be moved from one unit to another when color changes are necessary. An additional design feature allows printers to switch between UV and conventional or different ink types by easily switching out the wet end components (follower plate, hose and tube) making for quick and easy color changes.
