DuPont manufacture a family of products made of high-temperature resistant polyimide tapes under the tradename Kapton. What is not so well known is that this product is simply a tradename, but the product itself is not under patent.

LINQTAPE PIT-Series is a high-temperature resistant polyimide tape designed for both permanent and temporary bonding in many high temperature applications. These applications are can be found in semiconductor, smartcard, electronic, automotive and general manufacturing industries.
LINQTAPE PIT-Series Tape provides an excellent balance of electrical, mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties over a wide range of temperatures. It can be used in applications that may see temperatures up to 260C (500F) .
