Description
Mortise Locks
Locks that are designed to be inserted into a rectangular pocket in the edge of the door are referred to as mortise locks. The mortise pocket is approximately 6" high by 4" deep by 1" wide. You can readily identify a mortise lock installation by a 8" faceplate installed on the edge of the door. Mortise locks are generally considered the most durable, dependable, and lowest-maintenance type of lock available. The also come in the widest variety of functions and trim designs.
